Video Highlights of the 2012 Pet Nutrition Fair and Pets Reducing for Rescues Ideal Weight Contest
The 2012 Pet Nutrition Fair and Pets Reducing for Rescues Ideal Weight Contest Kick-Off took place on March 24, 2012. Attendees enjoyed giveaways, door prizes and came away with valuable information about keeping pets healthy.
A highlight of the day was a pet food & supplement “label lab” and Dr. Ken Lambrecht gave a short, informative talk on “How to read pet food & supplement labels”. Rescues benefit from the efforts as 4 Paws Swim & Fitness and Westside Family Pet Clinic will donate $1 for each pound lost to the rescue of the participant’s choice.
Pet Wellness Fair 2011
Westside Family Pet Clinic (WFPC) will be holding their 2nd Annual Pet Wellness Fair on October 29th, 2011 from 1 to 3 PM. The Fair/open house will focus on preventative health for pets including annual wellness examinations, lifestyle based vaccinations and parasite control, nutrition, and evidence based supplements.
Receive a Pet Wellness Score Paw to be stamped at our 5 Wellness Stations (lifestage, body condition, muscle condition, pain and dentistry) and be entered in a drawing for over $1000 in pet related prizes! The Fair is FREE and open to the public. Don’t forget to bring your pet!
Proceeds will be based on how many Pet Wellness Score Paws are completed and will be distributed between our featured rescues: Grey Muzzle, Dane County Friends of Ferals, and the Dane County Humane Society.
“Pet wellness, beginning with annual examinations, is the best way to insure pets live long and healthy lives. There are so many easy and cost effective ways a pet owner can prevent disease at this point in time,” says Ken Lambrecht, DVM Medical Director of Westside Family Pet Clinic.
“Cats in particular have not fared well in recent years in receiving the necessary care they deserve. Part of this is related to the challenges faced in getting a cat to the veterinarian and in large, the fact that cats are excellent deceivers. They hide their pain and illness until it is quite advanced. Annual wellness exams are a vital part of dog and cat health and can detect the early onset of disease/pain. These exams can protect the family from pet carried illnesses too!”
The 2011 Pet Wellness Fair will include:
Five Pet Wellness stations where participants can get their Pet “Score Paws” stamped. Drs. Ken Lambrecht, Sarah Kalstrup, Katie Grawe, Tina Karls, & Deanna Clark, along with other guest veterinarians and our staff of Certified Veterinary Technicians, Assistants, and vendors will be on hand to answer virtually any pet wellness question.
Groomers & Fitness Trainers from Pet Styles & 4 Paws Swim and Fitness will be on hand to provide fitness and pet rehabilitation demonstrations, as well as provide a nail trimming or ear cleaning with a donation to our featured rescues.
We hope you can join us!
WKOW Interviews Dr. Ken Lambrecht
WKOW Channel 27 Madison recently interviewed Dr. Ken Lambrect for a story called,
“Sleeping with pets may come with health risks”
According to the article,
More than 60 percent of American households have pets, and many of those owners let their pets sleep in bed with them. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study shows there have been several cases in history where that has made pet owners more susceptible to rare diseases.
